The BMW Group and its partner, Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Limited (CBA), embarked on a joint venture in the People's Republic of China. This undertaking includes production, marketing and after-sales activities for BMW vehicles. The plant is located in Shenyang, the capital of the province of Liaoning in the North East of the country. The joint venture employs roughly 3,000 people.

ITR provided design, implementation and maintenance services for the basic infrastructure, national data networking, applications, and maintenance services.

Project scope included Structured Cabling (+3000 points copper Cat.6 and +2000 points fiber), set up of the national data network and data center (HP), backup solution design and implementation, active Directory set up, exchange server migration / rebuild and IT personnel outsourcing

The main project challenges was the multiple migration projects required, affecting both cabling, network and data infrastructure. Also, the implementation of BMW’s global standards was particularly complex – because of the backdrop of frequent changes and ongoing production.
